From 21 to 24 July, Sevagram Care Centre Scharwyerveld is organising a four-day walking event for its residents. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help accompany seniors, most of whom use a wheelchair.
Spending time outdoors, enjoying a chat and taking in the surroundings means so much to the residents. The walking routes are short and take place around the care centre. Along the way, there will be a fun puzzle, and afterwards we will end the afternoon with drinks, snacks and music. 🎵 Each day also has its own theme (Italian, German, Spanish or Maastricht), creating a festive atmosphere throughout the care centre.
Programme (approximate)
🕐 1:00 pm – Volunteers and residents gather in the Atrium
🚶 1:30 pm – 3:15 pm – Walk around the neighbourhood with a short break
☕ 3:15 pm – 4:00 pm – Drinks, snacks and music together
Before the event, all volunteers will receive a short introduction on how to assist residents and safely handle wheelchairs. No previous experience is required. 😊
