On Sunday, 15 March 2026, Centre Céramique will once again host the Living Library at Maastricht Library. As the NOAh community, we are happy to join this inspiring event together.

During the Living Library you don’t speak with a paper book, but with a “living book”: a person who shares their personal story with you. The concept encourages participants to look beyond first impressions and engage in open conversations about experiences and perspectives.

This year you can, among others, speak with:

  • A former coal miner, sharing stories about life underground, camaraderie, migration and the impact of the mine closures in South Limburg;
  • Other living books discussing themes such as resilience, faith, gender, loss, caregiving and refugee experiences.

How does it work?

The Living Library works just like a regular library:

  1. An overview board shows which living books are available.
  2. At the desk you choose which book you would like to “borrow”.
  3. A staff member brings you together and briefly explains the rules.
  4. You have up to 20 minutes to ask questions, listen and discover new perspectives.

Date: Sunday, 15 March 2026
Time: 13:00 – 16:30
Location: Centre Céramique, Maastricht Library (basement)
Admission: Free

We will meet 15 minutes before the event next to Coffee Lovers in the library. After the event we will have a coffee or tea together to exchange impressions and takeaways and perhaps make one or two nice new connections within the NOAH community. ☕
